About

The Skating Club of Florida is a private, non-profit organization, governed by an elected group of volunteers. Its membership is open to anyone in accordance with its bylaws and the USFSA rules.The Club's Mission
To foster and encourage the sport of figure skating. To aim to develop a spirit of mutual respect and support among skaters, both competitive and recreational, of all ages and abilities, while adhering to the general policies of U.S. Figure Skating.

History
Established in 1962 by Carolyn and Bill Grimditch, the Skating Club of Florida is the oldest figure skating club in the state. For over 60 years, the club has fostered a legacy of excellence—from our beginnings in Fort Lauderdale to our current home at the Olympic-sized Palm Beach Ice Works.

Why join?

From beginners to Olympians, our club unites skaters across all ages and skill levels. Join our inclusive family and discover the joy of skating in a supportive, nurturing environment.

A membership includes:

  • Freestyle Ice Discounts at Palm Beach Ice Works (PBIW): $6.80 per half-hour session using Blue Discount Tickets (non-members pay $15 per half-hour).

  • Club Access: Participate in club events, shows, skating tests at PBIW, and the annual banquet.

  • U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Membership: Includes a Skating Magazine subscription, access to USFS-sanctioned competitions and testing, and secondary sports accident insurance. Volunteer Requirements

Volunteer Chair: Kelly BurtonVolunteer Season: July 1 – June 30
Requirement: 3 hours per skating family (not per skater)
The Skating Club of Florida depends on its members' support to run successful club events. The 3-hour commitment is per skating family, not per skater. Any family member, whether a club member or not, may complete the volunteer hours.Volunteer opportunities are typically available during club events, including Halloween events, the Winter Ice Show, the Spring Ice Show, and the Annual Banquet. The club will send notifications (emails, Instagram posts, flyers) when volunteer opportunities are available.Volunteer Fee OptionFamilies who prefer not to volunteer may choose to pay a $75 volunteer fee instead.This fee can be paid through the Entryeeze website:
1. Log in to your Skating Club of Florida Entryeeze account
2. Go to the Merchandise tab
3. Search for “Volunteer Fee”
4. Add it to your cart and complete checkout
